Partially written and recorded in Tokyo, this was technically the second album I recorded with the updated equipment. The first album, however, was almost entirely made up of samples, and by the time I had finished 'one thousand winters' I didn't feel it was a good representation of my heart. It was fun to record, but in the end it felt more like I had remixed a bunch of other people's material. And although 'one thousand winters' has more samples that I am currently comfortable with, I still feel like it's got enough of myself in it that I can call it a Velveteen Vaccine album.
